Special Rides

Special/novelty rides coming up (see below)
Special or novelty rides are organised throughout the summer riding season to provide something different.  Rides typically explore areas further afield or include a different riding experience.  Special rides tend to be very popular so members are advised to register their interest online as soon as possible after registration opens.  Entry to rides is normally closed when numbers reach 12 riders.

12th October 2017: The final special ride of the year will be led by Trevor on 12th October. Designed with the moderates in mind it is just over 50 miles most of which are flat. However there is a slightly longer and more challenging alternative route for the brisk riders after lunch. The starting point/time is at Mecycle, a cafe/cycle shop adjacent to the railway station at Ainsdale at 10.00. There is plenty of free on-road parking on the seaward side of the railway line, the best option being Sandringham Road (Postcode PR8 2NY) which runs adjacent to the railway. Just cycle back to and across the level crossing and Mecycle is on your right. Lunch will be at The Rigbye Arms (www.rigbyearms.com) by which time we will have completed 29 miles. If more than 10 riders sign up we will split into 2 groups so as not to cause problems at the lunch venue.

Signed up so far are Trevor, Steve T, George, Steve H, Dave H, Keith B, Macca, Dave P, Jim, Nick

  1. Count me in Trevor. I've not cycled in that neck of the woods since big Norman's ride. Nice territory for very pleasant riding. Looking forward to it. Dave Heath
